The best way to build the list is to offer something of value and have people opt into it especially motivated by a lead magnet (a giveaway) which is a high-value asset such as a coupon or video or an e-book or some sort of information product that people see as valuable.

Then you should nurture them with great content without asking them to buy anything for a long period of time. The ratio I normally use in my campaigns is one request to purchase for every 10 emails that I send out the other nine how high that people find valuable.

I asked people to unsubscribe if they are not interested in being on the list if not engaging. This keeps my list tight and full of people that matter to me and my business and I care about what I am sending. You lie
